Good morning, Thursday, and welcome, Fall! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year and though it's still hot in New York, the temps are gonna drop this weekend and I can't wait to get cozy as I try to stay away from pumpkin spice lattes. They are my Waterloo.
When I lived in Miami, I very much missed the change of seasons- we really had hot and hotter and that was about it. Sure there were some delicious days in the 60s, but I'm a cool weather girl and I so missed that chill. Plus for me, I find that seasons help with the passing of time, when one door may open and another one may close. It's important to honor the seasons and acknowledge that no matter what, the leaves are going to turn, the snow may come, the flowers may bloom, and the days get longer. I've been thinking a lot lately about the need to let things go- because really, we push so hard to make everything amazing and everyone happy and sometimes, you just have to go with the flow and embrace that all things must pass and change and reinvent. Because the seasons are going to keep changing (hopefully) and time will keep passing and getting in step with that and onboard with that jam is a step in the right direction. I welcome the opportunity to be in tune with the weather. Plus I love the light changing as the temperatures drop, and I love watching Khan crunch the leaves under his paws as we take longer walks as the humidity disappears. Oh and also- good hair weather. Yes please.
Fall always has me in the mood for reinvention, and launching my new gig is very top of mind and I'm working on some fun ideas and can't wait to make them happen. It's funny that Fall is not a time when things grow or bloom, but you can totally channel the energy of fall when it comes to reinvention because Fall is all about shedding leaves and skin and old habits, etc. I find the cold air inspiring, and always feel most myself at this time of year. I hope you too are feeling empowered by the prospect of Fall foliage, and of course, Fall fashion- a girl's best friend after so many months of feeling exposed- who doesn't love a good layer to protect against the elements? I can't wait.
Tomorrow I'll give you my top picks for the fashion inclined when it comes to Fall- hope you are all in the mood for shedding your skin and making transitions. It's all about Fall for this maven. Cause that's what's up this Autumnal Thursday in the 718. Yours, in change is good, and getting into the groove. XO
