Something for every woman from Zac Posen and Derek Lam

I'm dispensing with pleasantries because I'm excited about this awesome presentation by Zac Posen for his lower priced line, Z Spoke. Featuring Coco Rocha, who incidentally is becoming quite the social media star and role model for young girls everywhere, these photos are so incredibly glam and fresh and fun, it's hard not to fall in love with these very girly looks. Are they pieces that are cool, rock and roll, easy, and simple like I usually go for? Nope. But I love them anyway, because they're feminine and flirty and pretty and make me want to eat a cupcake. And I generally don't like cupcakes, but wow. Pretty as a picture these looks- transcending trends and whims and moments- because being a girl never goes out of style. I love the influence of classic French designers like Emanual Ungaro and Sonia Rykiel in the knit looks.I'm in love. And that's what I've got on the Zac front. He really gets the feminine mystique.

And also in lower priced line news, Derek Lam's 10 Crosby looks feature one of my favorite bloggers, Emily Weiss, of Into the Gloss, a beauty blog that should be at the top of your bookmarks when it comes to beauty news and reviews. She's a pretty girl (love her hair), and Mr. Lam's choices are good ones. That royal blue pants suit (royal blue being an early trend) is the END and his take on pajamas is quickly becoming his trademark, and it's a look I am a huge fan of. Just fabulous and it's all about a sexy ease that says I'm not afraid to be comfortable. And guess what? I'm not. And nor should you.

I love how both of these designers speak to the two sides of being a woman (oh and of course there's more than two)- the ultra femmed up sexy lady and the cool tomboyish easygoing chick. I can see it's going to be way fun to be of the femmed persuasion come Springtime, and I can't wait. Very excited with what I'm seeing so far, and can't wait to see what's in store. And that's what's up this fun fashion week in the 212. More to come, kids. More to come. XO
