Oh, Lemaire, what's a girl in love supposed to do?

Good afternoon, Wednesday. Sorry I've gone a bit quiet. I'd like to say it's because I'm insanely busy, but actually, it's quite the opposite. I need a little bit of brain and body rest and am grateful for the past few days of calm, long walks with Khan, and nesting. It's nothing terrible at all- just easing myself into new things and trying to not push push push so very hard with everything. You know what I mean. I know you do. But back to fashion, a topic I can always find myself talking about, even at my most quiet moments.

Red. I have a tricky relationship with the color red. Hillary wore red to debate Trump the other night. Everybody knows that red conveys power, command, confidence. But I don't love the color. I like pops of red- red lipstick, red shoes, a red scarf- even a red coat. But really, red is far from my favorite color, because it doesn't look amazing on me unless it's of the more brick or scarlet variety. True red? No can do. At least not next to my face.

But as I was looking at the shows in Paris I couldn't help but fall in love with Lemaire's beautiful collection, and within in, the most perfect red number I have seen in a long time. Red silk. And not an untrue red either. I love this look because it's super easygoing but really- how could one not be the chicest person in the entire room let alone the world when wearing this? I am obsessed with this beautiful ensemble and if I was the type to still cut out pictures and put them on a moodboard, this would be smack dab in the middle of it. Plus that shape- can you think of a better outfit to travel in? To wear to a dinner party somewhere fabulous? It's everything. It's Studio 54, it's Woodstock, it's everything cool and unpretentious and free flowing and so damn glamorous. I love me a dress over pants and think it's such a fabulous way to switch up traditional proportions- and at a time in history when we may indeed have someone in the White House who wears both the dress and the pants, well damn. This is just even more perfect.

Yes I know some of you are saying what's the big deal, really? I see a lot of potential in a look like this- and that's what great fashion does- it takes you to a place where you can imagine yourself wearing something fabulous in your dreams, and this whole collection is a beautiful mix of pieces that function but also serve up some fantasy.

Oh and this bag featured at the beginning of the show? Perfection- as is the whole look, really. The unstructured bag thing is really speaking to me. I see Mr. Lemaire and I speak the same language. Must get myself to Uniqlo stat and see what's afoot in his more affordable versions of what's on the runway- when is he releasing his next collection ps? I need to set an alarm.

To be fair, I was feeling uninspired today. Not in a bad way, really. Just had not much to say. Then I saw this show and that changed quickly. Now I just can't stop thinking about wanting to wear red and wanting this look and wanting to host the most fabulous dinner party with several hundred of my closest friends and wearing this. On the moon. Yup. A girl can dream. Full collection here. Fair to say I'm obsessed.

Cause that's what's up this dress over the pants kind of Wednesday in the 718. Yours, in grateful for inspiration of any, and particularly, the fashion variety. XO
