Five for Friday: Booting Up

Good on ya, Friday. Yesterday felt more like Friday than today ever could. But today starts up the birthday celebration for my darling David, whose bday this year falls on the same day we all celebrate the day that Columbus found our little patch of land. So as I bid adieu to the workweek and give all thoughts of email and conference calls the boot, my five spot this week is all about that classic Fall fashion statement- the staple we all want on our feet, and there are so many good options out there, it's almost dizzying. I found five that I'm tots digging though, and hope you like them too. After all, there's five toes on each foot, and we need to keep those suckers warm as the temperatures hit the skids. Here go:

Rag and Bone Newbury tall boot- At just under $700, these boots are not exactly a steal. But to me they are utterly perfect and cool for all of you out there that love the high boots and jeans thing, or wearing a platformed boots with filmy skirts and tights. I'm in that camp and that's why my plan is to dream about these boots for the next month, meditate on them, and praise the Lord in their honor in the hopes that they will magically appear on my feet. I need them in black but this brown is just fab too. Obsessed. The perfect amount of rockerish chunk to get you through the cold months.

Ash Yahoo Bis Wedge Boot- Oh, wedge boot. I love thee. I'm not a girl who cops to loving Uggs, but I love how these are a little spin on the warm and comfy boot thing but have some real cool cred. I'd pop these on for just about everything fall and winter in the city have to offer. On my list of must haves. Thick tights, leggings, cuteness all around. Digging this color too. They come in other flavors too.

Ann Taylor Leigh Leather riding boots- Yea, I know. Ann Taylor is not who you would think of when you think of me and stuff I'd like. But their accessories are actually quite lovely- I scored a great silk leopard scarf there a few weeks ago that looks like a million dollars, and bought a great tote a few seasons back that was oft mistaken for Lanvin (grosgrain ribbons will do that for a bag). Anyhoo, these boots. I saw them in person and they're super classic and comfortable. Riding boots are everywhere, and are quick becoming a classic for girls who actually have to walk places or be on their feet. Love these with long straight skirts, leggings, skinny jeans. Great basic that will go with most of your 'drobe.

Nine West Calgary boots- Yea, these are wild. I love them. You know how I feel about Nine West- always comfortable and well priced. These are way more spendy than most of their offerings, but they're hot. I see them with a tee shirt type dress, short of course with thick tights and big dreams. The tassel is lovely and the suediness makes them feel less dominatrix and more country cool. I dig these so much. Please buy them so I can borrow them.

Gianvitti Rossi winged pump in Forest Green- Oh. These. These are sexy little bootie things that are beyond gorgeous. I was helping a male friend of mine look for shoes for his girl and found these on my search. I was hoping for a finder's fee from him for helping him pick out hte perfect pumps from Alexander Wang, but alas. Sigh. I'm obsessed with the color of these, the cut of them, the way they'd look with dark tights or skinny pants or cropped trousers and an attitude. Le sigh. And this color kills me, I live for it.  Also quite expensive but a knockout of a shoe/sorta boot situation, non?

Welp, that's it for today. I hope you get in some shoe shopping this weekend, wherever you're keeping yourself these days. It's supposed to be in the 40s next week here in my lovely little town, and it's Friday and I've got Imogen Heap on an endless loop and I think it's all going to work out. Besides all of that, who doesnt' love a good pair of boots? Cause that's what's up this well heeled Friday in the 212. XO
