Under the Influence of Hedi Slimane

It's a cloudy, quiet Monday morning in Miami and I'm feeling drunk on the
diary of Hedi Slimane. If you haven't checked out his site, do. You know him
for his impossibly slim suits made for men but worn by chic, waify women-
but his photos are sort of beyond and transcendent- they are toned down in
the style of a Gus Van Sant film- quiet, a bit dark, and eerie, yet
ethereal. They celebrate that same stripped down ideal of youth, peppered
with androgyny and sheer beauty of early Van Sant, and even Mapplethorpe in
a way. If Patti Smith does another album, he needs to shoot the cover- would
love to see a portrait of her shot by him. I am inspired by his take on
